TSE25 - Technical Sales Engineer – West Midlands

Midlands, UK | Full-time | Competitive Salary + Benefits Join a global leader in cutting tool technology and take your career to the next level. We’re looking for a driven and customer-focused Technical Sales Engineer to strengthen our sales team in the West Midlands. Covering Birmingham, Coventry and surrounding areas. If you have a background in machining, cutting tools, or technical sales — and enjoy solving customer challenges while building lasting relationships — we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll combine your technical expertise with commercial skills to deliver real value to customers across the region. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and growing cutting tool sales across end-user production facilities and distribution customers.
  • Supporting customers with technical advice, machining strategies, and tool trials.
  • Building strong relationships with existing clients while actively sourcing new business.
  • Following up on sales leads and developing fresh revenue streams.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for your customer base.

Don’t worry if you don’t have experience in all areas — we provide comprehensive initial and ongoing product training.


What we’re looking for

  • A motivated and proactive professional with a passion for engineering and machining.
  • Experience in cutting tool applications (essential).
  • Sales experience in the metal cutting industry (preferred), particularly in general machining, automotive, or aerospace.
  • A track record of generating new business and managing accounts is a plus.
  • Confident communicator, with initiative and the drive to close opportunities.
  • Comfortable using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must.

  • Regional Sales Manager – 30+ years’ expertise in cutting tools, combined with strong negotiation skills
  • National Sales Manager – 19 years at Guhring, with deep expertise across cutting tools.

Together, they’ll provide guidance, mentorship, and the support you need to succeed.
